The “A. G. Leventis” Foundation was established in 1979, after Anastasios G. Leventis’ passed away, in order to continue his charity work. Being particularly fond of his homeland, Cyprus, Αnastasios G. Leventis provided help to a great number of sectors, wherever he felt it was necessary.
First President of the Foundation was Constantinos Leventis, Anastasios’ nephew. During the first few years of its operation Constantinos’ leadership was decisive for the definition of the Foundation’s policy. Following Anastasios Leventis’ directions and laying particular emphasis on the conservation and dissemination of the Greek and Cypriot cultural heritage, Konstantinos Leventis organised the Foundation’s activities based on the threefold motto “Culture, Education, Charity”.
